Lakshmi Saundarya Mantra – A Beautiful Practice for Grace, Beauty and Inner Glow
Share
There are some spiritual practices that we do because we want something from the universe, and then there are some practices that simply make us feel more connected to ourselves. For me, beauty and feminine energy rituals have always belonged to the second category.
When we talk about Maa Lakshmi, most people immediately think about money and prosperity. But Lakshmi energy is much more than wealth. Maa Lakshmi is also associated with beauty, grace, abundance, charm, auspiciousness and that beautiful energy that makes a person feel radiant from within.
This is where the idea of Lakshmi Saundarya becomes so beautiful.
Saundarya means beauty, but I don’t like limiting it only to physical appearance. There is a certain kind of beauty that comes when you feel peaceful inside, when you start loving yourself, when your confidence improves and when you stop constantly comparing yourself with other people. That energy automatically starts showing in the way you speak, smile, dress and carry yourself.
One mantra that can be included in your spiritual practice for this intention is:
Om Padma Sundarayei Namah
I personally feel that mantras should never be treated like magic sentences where you chant something today and keep checking the mirror tomorrow for results. The experience becomes much more meaningful when you actually connect with the energy behind the mantra.
If you want to practice this mantra, try doing it for 21 days. Morning is a beautiful time for this practice. After bathing, sit somewhere peaceful where you will not be disturbed. If possible, you can face East.
You can keep an image of Maa Lakshmi in front of you, light a diya or simply close your eyes and visualise her. None of this needs to be complicated. Your intention and consistency matter much more than creating a perfect setup.
Chant Om Padma Sundarayei Namah 108 times.
While chanting, don’t sit there thinking, “I want to become more beautiful.” Instead, change the feeling behind your intention.
Visualise yourself already feeling beautiful.
Imagine yourself walking into a room confidently. Imagine your face looking peaceful and radiant. Feel yourself becoming comfortable with your own femininity. Visualise a soft golden or pink light surrounding you and imagine that light becoming brighter with every repetition of the mantra.
And then leave it there.
This part is important because sometimes we become so obsessed with the result of a manifestation practice that we completely miss the experience itself.
Your 21-day practice can become a little sacred time that belongs only to you.
There may also be days when you don’t feel particularly beautiful or confident. You may wake up tired, your skin may not look the way you want, or emotionally you may simply be having a bad day. Don’t abandon the practice on those days.
Those are actually the days when you can remind yourself that your relationship with beauty shouldn’t disappear whenever you don’t look perfect.
Maa Lakshmi’s energy, for me, represents something much bigger than perfection. It represents abundance. And abundance also means allowing yourself to receive love, appreciation, happiness and beautiful experiences without constantly questioning whether you deserve them.
So when you chant this mantra, don’t only ask Maa Lakshmi for outer beauty.
Ask for grace in your personality.
Ask for confidence in your presence.
Ask for softness without weakness.
Ask for the ability to recognise your own beauty.
Ask for a peaceful mind and an energy that naturally feels warm and magnetic.
Physical beauty changes throughout our lives, but the energy with which a person carries themselves can become more beautiful with time.
Try this practice consistently for 21 days and observe yourself without becoming obsessed with results. Notice your mood, confidence, thoughts and the way you feel about yourself.
Sometimes the first manifestation isn’t something other people notice.
Sometimes it is simply the moment when you look at yourself and realise that you have started seeing yourself differently.
May Maa Lakshmi bring beauty to your thoughts, abundance to your life, grace to your personality and divine radiance to your presence.
With Love,
Apoorva Sharma
